Adding my vote that this feature, and all ways to accidentally activate it by keys or gestures, MUST BE OFF BY DEFAULT.
I just had this problem with Kubuntu 9.04. Apparently it was turned on by some "gesture" I did while playing in Google Earth. There was no warning whatsoever.
