Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
This appears to be an intermittent issue and I cannot seem to reliably reproduce it. However... Upon attempting to install available updates and authenticating via the update-manager password dialogue, the password will be re-requested repeatedly, despite Gnome panel indicating elevated privileges for the application have been granted. The installation will not start unless update-manager is terminated and restarted. A restart of update-manager seems to correct the issue in all previously observed cases. I have not noticed this issue recently (within the last 2 days), and therefore it may no longer be a problem. However an abundance of caution led me to file this bug report anyway.
