Here, Compiz also stopped working. Maybe this is the same problem? Because of bug report 391461 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /nvidia-graphics-drivers-180/+bug/391461), I cannot install the version maintained by Ubuntu. This driver worked earlier for me in Karmic.
