Public bug reported:

No idea what led to this one, but I had inserted my 3G mobile broadband
USB device, not recognized (tailing /var/log/messages). After a bit, I
gave up, and removed it. And around then (but not necessarily
correlated) got this crash report.

Subsequently (like 10 seconds later) inserted USB device in a different
port and ta-da, recognized & network came up [allowing me to file this!]
