I have this problem also, but my printer applet is not unresponsive. I can delete the job from it. The cups error log at the print server shows the following:
E [27/Sep/2009:01:07:02 -0300] CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer: Unauthorized E [27/Sep/2009:01:22:18 -0300] encrypt_client: Unable to encrypt connection from 192.168.0.1! E [27/Sep/2009:01:22:18 -0300] encrypt_client: A TLS fatal alert has been received. I have noticed that the URI for the auto-configured printer is ipp://w.x.y.z:631/... and this is what is not working. If I manually configure a network printer using a URI like ipp://w.x.y.z/... (omitting the port), it works. However, this is a bad workaround for me, because the cups server IP address is dynamic and eventually changes. The auto- configured printer does not work. -- Printer Applet infinite notification: Printer may not be connected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/412730 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
