Siegfried, what do you mean by 'Maybe because kdm is running again'? In my case kdm DOESN'T start at all; I have to start kde with startx (and it also happend after the last update). When I enter in the konsole alsamixer I get 'alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory', but when I do sudo alsamixer the mixer starts so it proves the bug #437228 is indeed the reason.
