Hi, As this version is not yet in Debian, you should find someone (Sascha?) willing to update the package and submit it for sponsoring.
Anyway, this version bring some new functionalities, and as we are now in Feature Freeze, you would need to follow th Feature Freeze exception process as described at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess to have a chance to get this new version in Karmic.
