Note that upstream has a different filter chain (all jobs converted to PostScript, page manipulation done on PostScript, then jobs converted to the printer's format) the Ubuntu and Debian (all jobs turned to PDF, then pages manipulated on PDF, after that all jobs converted to the printerÅ› format). To get the latter filter chain implemented I have added several new filters to the CUPS package which the upstream CUPS package does not ship. The fix which I did, I did in one of these filters, so it is possible that the bug does not exist in upstream CUPS. It is bug #411392.
