Thank you for opening this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This is not a ' date' errors, but a parameter error. The environment variable TZ should be specified following the ' tz' database. For example US PDT would be "Americas/Los_Angeles":
hggdh $ env TZ="Americas/Los_Angeles" date Tue Sep 22 18:48:48 Americas 2009 hggdh $ date Tue Sep 22 13:48:57 CDT 2009 hggdh $ Please see http://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/faq/coreutils-faq.html #The-date-command-is-not-working-right_002e for a bit more of details on the ' date' command. On a terminal, "info coreutils 'date invocation'" will give you the full man pages for ' date'. Please do not hesitate in reopening this bug if you consider my answer unsatisfactory, and please do not hesitate on opening a new bug on other issues. ** Changed in: coreutils (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- date not yield correct if TZ env is set https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/425356 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
