After talking to people in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /alsa-driver/+bug/391114 and doing some search I've got some news on this. The option "probe_mask=8" fixed the problem with the crackling sound and the timeout errors from above, at least it seems so... Furthermore, alsa-mixer shows all devices correctly (capture devices were missing before). At the first glance, everything seems correct now...
However, one problem remains: recording STILL doesn't work! When recording with audacity, the time-slider doesn't move forward but is constantly flickering. And when using GNOME's sound recorder, recording stops immediately after starting it and the app crashes on exit each time. PA's "volume meter" for recording doesn't show anything either. I'm running out of ideas right now... -- ALC861 : Mic does not work after installation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
