Public bug reported: I am using Kubuntu Karmic 64-bit. Most of the time, my system is not bootable. One in ten or so times, I will actually boot, but most other times I get error messages. I have attached some log files to help diagnose this. Here is everything that happens, in case any might be related to this bug:
1.) About 9 out of 10 times my system will not boot to X, instead it will boot to a text log in, where it will not accept any keyboard output. 2.) If I try to SSH into my box, I can connect, but my keyboard will not operate properly on the other machines terminal window once connected. (Pressing "S" presses "Enter" instead, and a bunch of other weird things). 3.) If i get a proper boot with X and everything, I still cannot shut down properly, I will always get a stack trace instead. The only way to restart my machine is to reset it manually. 4.) This may or may not be related, but I do not have an XSplash or any kind of boot splash screen. Instead, I get error messages intermixed with boot messages until X (hopefully) appears. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Karmic Doesn't Boot Most of the Time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434395 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
