braweheart, of course you could make a wish ;-). But I do think you should create a separate bug for it (as this bug is for fixing what is broken). Fixing this for the "simple" search engine should be quite easy but I'm not sure how to do it for tracker and beagle (but still not trivial as you need to update the file format, the query api etc etc).
I'd say the chance is low to get it into karmic unless the tracker and beagle people jump in and fix there engines and the nautilus dev are really quick to say they'll commit this after the freeze and the karmic packagers want an extra patch to carry around....
