Also exists in Jaunty 9.04 It seems it is not related to system-config-lvm. system-config-lvm relies on lvm2 and since I have problems with that I would say lvm2 is closer to the source of the problem. When I try to lvremove a snapshot I get:
# lvremove -v -d /dev/mapper/vg01-log--snap Using logical volume(s) on command line Can't remove open logical volume "log-snap" There is a thread which recommends to switch of udev to avoid some udev rules to interfere with lvm (http://archives.free.net.ph/message/20090809.233140.2de7ebec.de.html) but I haven't been successful with it. On the other hand I'm not that familiar with udev. On my notebook it was possible to remove the snapshot after a reboot. This would not be useful with a server :-(. Here are some versions which could be helpful: kernel: 2.6.28-15-generic lvm2: 2.02.39-0ubuntu9 kernel: 2.6.31-6-server (from karmic) lvm2: 2.02.39-0ubuntu9 ** Tags added: lvm snapshot ** Summary changed: - system-config-lvm can not remove snapshot + lvm can not remove snapshot -- lvm can not remove snapshot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301708 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
