I'm having the problem described by Mr Mike on 2009-06-03: "And now, it plays a sentence, but it comes out so fast it's like just a tick." A long utterance (a many line text file) comes out as a sequence of rapid ticks. 32-bit Jaunty.
I think it needs to be higher than "low" priority: espeak doesn't work at all here in its normal mode of operation.
