Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio
To be honest, I'm not sure if this is actually a pulse issue, but the problem began with a pulseaudio upgrade this morning. When using either alsa or pulseaudio output, sound is nothing but static. However, if I use OSS, than sound is correct. I get this over and over again in my messages log: Sep 18 08:26:41 ripps-desktop pulseaudio[2674]: reserve-wrap.c: Failed to acquire reservation lock on device 'Audio0': Input/output error Sep 18 08:26:46 ripps-desktop pulseaudio[2674]: ratelimit.c: 383 events suppressed ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: ripps 2674 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: ripps 2674 F.... pulseaudio Card0.Amixer.info: Card hw:0 'Live'/'SB Live! 5.1 (rev.7, serial:0x80641102) at 0xc000, irq 16' Mixer name : 'eMicro EM28028' Components : 'AC97a:454d4328' Controls : 216 Simple ctrls : 38 Card1.Amixer.info: Card hw:1 'CX8801'/'Conexant CX8801 at 0xeb000000' Mixer name : 'CX88' Components : '' Controls : 3 Simple ctrls : 2 Date: Fri Sep 18 08:57:00 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 Package: pulseaudio 1:0.9.17-0ubuntu2 ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-10.34-generic SourcePackage: pulseaudio Uname: Linux 2.6.31-10-generic i686 ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- [Karmic] Audio is nothing but static https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432506 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
