Public bug reported:

The monitor turns automatically brigithness from full to zero, then
reverse from zero to full, or it's just jumping to various value of
brigithness. I'm very affraid if it can destroy my monitor or my
backlight. It started when I upgrade ubuntu to 9.10 testing karmic
koala. Any help would be very appreciated.

** Affects: gdm-2.20 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Summary changed:

- the gdm blinks my screen from dark light to bright light (brigithness
full->zero and reverse) until I log in on my netbook msi wind. I'm affraid this
can destroy my monitor
+ the gdm blinks my screen (random brigithness value) until I log in on my
netbook msi wind. I'm affraid this can destroy my monitor
