Mozilla.org products have no support for startup notification yet (see upstream bug watch).
So putting StartupNotify=true into the desktop file is incorrect. Although it seems the gnome startup notification implementation handles this well, other implementations could have problems with it. The only change to the desktop file should be to add this line: StartupWMClass=Mozilla-thunderbird-bin The WMClass can be found by running xprop from a terminal and clicking the Thunderbird window. Please test only this desktop change and report if it works. ** Bug watch added: Mozilla Bugzilla #223492 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=223492 ** Also affects: thunderbird (upstream) via https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=223492 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- Startup notification should be enabled https://launchpad.net/bugs/11463 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
