I don't know if is the same in Ubuntu, but if I split i18n files in a separate package, it will go in NEW queue, and so, yes, if there is a copyright issue Debian ftpmaster (but I think also Ubuntu ftpmaster) will *never* accepted that change. Asserting that this is not relevant is only a waste of time for ftpmaster that will reject the new wordpress-l10n package. So I repeat, from my Debian maintainer point of view (but I think you really check that also in Ubuntu) this *is* a preliminary and *mandatory* check. Anyway, is evident that my "fuss" is not appreciated here, I will no waste my time for wordpress Ubuntu bugs anymore.
