Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lvm2
During startup, mountall fails to mount volumes specified in /etc/fstab as /dev/vg_name/volume_name but succeeds if specified as /dev/mapper /vg_name-volume_name. As slangasek suggested, /dev/vg_name only contains symlinks to /dev/mapper which might cause the issue.
