Public bug reported: Hi, I know this sounds crazy but it's true :D! I did some test on PC's in my work with Jaunty i386 LiveCD because I wanted to see which PC I can migrate to Ubuntu. But first some backround information! In my work we have an Mac-adress restricted network. So I try to boot the PC from livecd and I recognized that I got no network connection. So I did an ifconfig. This showed that on both PC's (they've quite the same hardware) the Mac-adress is mirror-inverted. They should be:
00:13:8F:XX:XX:XX but they are XX:XX:XX:8F:13:00 That's no big deal because I can change the Mac with "sudo ifconfig eth0 hw ether <new MAC>". Someone else seen this before? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- MCP61 (rev a2) Ethernet card with mirror-inverted Mac adress! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/430505 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
