Martin-Éric, I added some info to the upstream bug. I believe the relevant people are subscribed there as well and I don't think that change really is something near a solution as this only prevents the immediate visibility of the corruption. It still might happen but go unnoticed as the private pointer might be used differently (at other times). So I would not say it is a fix.
