Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and help to improve Ubuntu.
It appears this problem was caused by the debconf GNOME frontend and perl being in an inconsistent state during the upgrade. As libpam0g correctly declares a dependency on debconf, this is a fault in the debconf package for aborting in response to the missing module; reassigning to that package. Were you able to continue your upgrade after this failure occurred? ** Package changed: pam (Ubuntu) => debconf (Ubuntu) -- package libpam0g 1.0.1-4ubuntu5.6 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429779 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
