You tell that OpenOffice crashed. This can either be a problem of
OpenOffice if the crash happens within the code of OpenOffice or a
problem of the CUPS library if the crash happens there. To determine
that we need a traceback of your crash.

>From the printer OpenOffice does only get the PPD file, most probably
through the use of functions of the CUPS library. PPD files, even if
they do not comply with the specs, should not make the CUPS library or
any application to crash.
