Just installed Sept. 13 updates. There is some improvement; leaving the computer sit at the desktop (1 hour) no longer licked up. Visual effects are set to none: boinc client works OK. Disk usage analyzer works OK. Gimp (without going through everything) works OK. Open Office Writer - small test file save-shutdown-reload works OK. Nautilus - failed on setting properties - screen lock up. Nautilus lockup while browsing files. Firefox - lockup while trying to move window. Add/remove - added sysinfo - runs OK. Add to panel - added 4 weather applets OK. - Closed - Reopened, lockup while scrolling to add another applet.
Loop: Restart - panels display - no icons. Ctrl+Alt+Delete -> E: Panel not responding - Reboot Anyway? Yes move weather applet icons - 3 move OK lockup while trying to move 4th icon. Restart -> loop Seems to alternate between starting OK / Displaying panels and lock up.
