Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: os-prober

I have Karmic installed, and I have a luks encrypted home directory
which is automounted at login using libpam-mount. I am booting with
grub-pc. When the grub-pc package is updated, os-prober runs and tries
to mount my encrypted partition using mount.crypto_LUKS from libpam-
mount. This causes os-prober (and so the whole upgrade) to hang.

I believe it hangs because mount.crypto_LUKS tries to prompt for a
password, although I do not see the prompt and cannot enter anything.
As a workaround, I can kill the mount.crypto_LUKS process manually, and
the grub installation continues normally.

Some versions of related packages:

os-prober: 1.32
libpam-mount: 1.27-4
grub-pc: 1.97~beta2-2ubuntu2

** Affects: os-prober (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
