Keyboard model: BTC 9029 URF III Wireless RF USB 16 Media keys on the keyboard, 13 of which return valid scan codes returned by both showkey and xev. The others do not return anything and are "dead", I checked functionality with Windows XP and the other 3 keys do work in that environment. I am unsure which package I was to report this under but upon reading many forums (via google), this seems to be a kernel related bug, as it translates the scancodes received into something sane (0-255). While using showkey, the middle non-working key did return a scancode of 363, though that number is unusable. I'm running Jaunty and have searched launchpad, seems that devicekit would help here and I installed udev-extras in the hopes that it would make this problem go away, yet it didn't. + + From what I've read around the block, this is a common issue people are + running into. Hopefully someone sane can figure out where these + keyboards are failing (or the kernel?) -- Kernel does not detect multimedia hotkeys on USB keyboard. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427543 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
