Actually, what I said is not correct.  After all, it seems the effects
are the same in all profiles and both FF and Chromium.

http://www.jal.com is broken (non-flash page displays fine when flash is 
deactivated, as is default in Chromium)
http://www.jal.co.jp/dom_network is OK
http://jal.innosked.com/(S(lkamwd55dpqyhbjoqzvgbx45))/Default.aspx?lang_id=JA&region_id=JAPAN
 is broken

As such, this may hint at an improperly coded website.

But, 48 or 69 does not seem to make a difference here (I restarted
Chromium and FF after the changes, XFCE session unchanged).  I may have
tweaked the fontconfig files at some time in the past, I don't remember
now.
