Public bug reported:

When inserting a USB device with a non-FAT filesystem, Linux should
mount it as read/write to the user. It currently does not handle
Ext2/3/4 well, as I have to be root to transfer anything to my USB
stick.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
