Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kde-window-manager
I get a "splash with exclamation mark" in the system tray; it's always there after start-up and sometimes happens on a running system. When I click it, the message box says that kwin crashed, but if I click "Report problem", it says that the problem cannot be reported: The program crashed on an assertion failure, but the message could not be retrieved. Apport does not support reporting these crashes. a...@etoile:~$ dpkg-query -s kde-window-manager Package: kde-window-manager Status: install ok installed Priority: optional Section: x11 Installed-Size: 5776 Maintainer: Kubuntu Developers <kubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com> Architecture: i386 Source: kdebase-workspace Version: 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu1 Replaces: kdebase-runtime-data (<< 4:4.0.81), kdebase-workspace-bin (<< 4:4.2.85), kdebase-workspace-data (<< 4:4.2.85), kwin (<= 4:4.2.2-2ubuntu1) Provides: x-window-manager Depends: kdebase-runtime (>= 4:4.3.0), kdebase-workspace-libs4+5 (>= 4:4.3.1), kdelibs5 (>= 4:4.3.1), libc6 (>= 2.4), libgl1-mesa-glx | libgl1, libice6 (>= 1:1.0.0), libkdecorations4 (>= 4:4.3.1), libkwineffects1 (>= 4:4.3.1), libplasma3 (>= 4:4.3.1), libqt4-dbus (>= 4.5.1), libqt4-qt3support (>= 4.5.1), libqtcore4 (>= 4.5.1), libqtgui4 (>= 4.5.1), libsm6, libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1), libx11-6, libxcomposite1 (>= 1:0.3-1), libxdamage1 (>= 1:1.1), libxext6, libxfixes3 (>= 1:4.0.1), libxrandr2 (>= 4.3), libxrender1 Recommends: compiz-wrapper Conflicts: kwin (<= 4:4.2.2-2ubuntu1) Description: the KDE 4 window manager (KWin) This package contains KWin, the KDE 4 window manager, featuring hardware-accelerated compositing effects. .
