Binary package hint: network-manager
I have Ubuntu Karmic Alpha5 installed ( from karmic-desktop-i386.iso )
on Toshiba laptop with Atheros AR 5211 ab NIC.
It does connect to wired / WPA/WPA2 secured wireless network but not to
an unsecured wireless network.
It tries to connect for 2/3 minutes and then says (unsecured) wireless
network has disconnected. Just updated (7:00 PM Pacific Sept 07, '09)
using wired network but to no avail.
