Public bug reported: On boot from the feisty herd 3 i386 desktop cd, i am bounced to a console with the following error:
/bin/sh: can't open tty
and given the following prompt:

casper.log begins with
mount: cannot mount /cdrom on /root/cdrom: invalid argument
