I did not go with Ubuntu in the 2007 time frame, instead staying with
Suse which I had used for years. However I have recently switched to
Ubuntu.

I don't recall where the LVM configuration WAS, but with 8.10 and 9.04 I
don't see any way to do MD or LVM through the install CD. This is very
disappointing. Suse's installer with regard to partitioning is much
better. You can specify options for disk formats, mount options, and do
MD and LVM. It is VERY nice. But they have other problems, and these
things are not hard to do by hand as long as you are not booting off of
them. So I just do mdadm and the lvm2 commands in a shell.

So I don't know if these numbers are still messed up, because I don't
SEE a GUI like MD or LVM configuration program any more!

It probably is silly to you, but I would appreciate any comments
pointing me in the right direction. This would be nice.

Thanks.
