I agree that Ahmed to whom we are thankful for maintaining this package needs to be more careful when releasing packages. The official, non-PPA Ubuntu package does not have this problem as evidenced by http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/i386/sl-modem-source/filelist
I'm sure this ticket will be enough of a reminder for Ahmed to check that the binary packages officially shipped do indeed contain the files they are meant to contain and thus close as invalid. /usr/share/man/man8/slmodemd.8.gz probably doesn't belong into the sl- modem-source package. ** Changed in: sl-modem (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- package sl-modem-daemon 2.9.10+2.9.9d+e-pre2-5ubuntu4~ppa2 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite `/usr/share/man/man8/slmodemd.8.gz', which is also in package sl-modem-source https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/422739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
