Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xfree86-driver-synaptics
My touchpad is not being detected in Ubuntu 9.04. I checked the kernel logs and it detects a "Macintosh mouse button emulation", which I don't think is the right device. My mouse is supposed to be a Synaptics touchpad as detected in Windows Vista. I also had Kubuntu 7.10 and booted from live-cd, but the mouse still doesn't work and it detects the same "Macintosh mouse button emulation" device. Following the DebuggingTouchpadDetection wiki, I'm attaching all files/logs specified in it and initially reporting it here in xfree86 -driver-synaptics, although my guess is it's actually in the kernel.
