I had the same problem in Kubuntu Edgy and now on Feisty. I have to press a key or move the mouse to get the password dialog. Whenever somebody else than me open my notebook (which wakes it up from suspend) they press the power button after a while because it looks like it is not powered on. Also, it would be nice if there was some on-screen indication that the machine is waking up, even before the password dialog shows up (which can take a dozen seconds).
