Confirming, happens on my setup as well when I have TV configured as second device, but it's not connected.
I'm using * Feisty * xorg-driver-fglrx 7.1.0-8.32.5+2.6.20.1-6.4 * ATI Radeon 9550 128MB When second device (+screen) is removed from xorg.conf, xserver doesn't crash when trying to play video. This doesn't happen with ati/radeon open-source drivers (or even with nvidia gfx-card and nvidia proprietary drivers with same dual head setup, on same computer). I've tried starting X with few fglrx specific options, but the outcome is same. I'm going to try if Debian provided xorg-driver-fglrx has the same issue. ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17 (Ubuntu) Status: Needs Info => Confirmed -- Dual head with fglrx crashes Xorg when playing video without second monitor connected https://launchpad.net/bugs/58989 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
