Alright, I understand that you are being frustated, I should have perhaps elaborated more:
It is not possible for a computer program to reliably know what is and is not important to you. That is why the Computer Janitor does not automatically remove packages but rather asks you, the user, if the stuff it finds should be removed or not. The .deb packages that are listed there are just like links, once you click to remove them Computer Janitor will go and remove the program/files installed by those .deb packages. A .deb package is essentially some files put together so /usr/bin/VirtualBox is a file executable that gets remove when the .deb is selected to be removed If you click away the little tick in front of the programs/packages you want to keep, Computer Janitor will no longer suggest them to be removed. They will be shown in the list, but with the tick removed, so they won't be removed. I suggest that if you are a user like me who likes trying out different stuff and wants to keep a clean system, remove Computer Janitor from Synpatics, I have had the same problem, but you should rather try this link for keeping a system clean: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/cleaning-up-all-unnecessary-junk-files-in- ubuntu.html Hope this solves your problem ** Changed in: computer-janitor (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Fix Released -- Computer Janitor deletes Virtualbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/420809 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
