Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 with a old battery that only holds about a 30 minute charge (I timed this, it varied from 10 minutes cold to 28 minutes warm to 32 minutes hot). I use to have Xubuntu 9.04 installed, but then switched to Ubuntu 9.04 to have better support for my school work. I also have the newest version (2.24.2-2ubuntu8) installed Firstly, it takes over 2 hours to charge this battery. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if my charger is dying, but might as well bring it up. During these two hours, it will show the incorrect charge percentage (0%-100%). xfce-power-manager correctly showed the charge percentage (0%-29%) during charge. Secondly, while discharging, the battery applet will show the incorrect discharge time and percentage (2 hours 5 minutes and 100%-0% respectively). xfce-power-manager correctly showed the discharge time and percentage (10-32 minutes and 29%-0% respectively). Here is my battery information: Product: 59S6702 Status: Charging Percentage charge: 20.0% Vendor: Sanyo Technology: Unknown Serial number: 10 Model: XXXXXXX Charge time: 2 hours 13 minutes Capacity: 29% (Poor) Current charge: 2.6 Wh Last full charge: 12.9 Wh Design charge: 43.2 Wh Charge rate: 4.6 W I have charged up the battery and let it die five times before writing this report to make sure it's not anything else. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Power Manager fails to correctly show battery percentage and time left https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/421070 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
