Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz
9.10 - Karmic and compiz 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu16. I think this patch compiz (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu16) karmic; urgency=low [ Travis Watkins ] * debian/patches/015_draw_dock_shadows_on_desktop.patch: - change decoration plugin to draw dock shadows only on the desktop window instead of on top of all other windows broke shadows functionality for gnome-panels. When an auto-hidden panel slides out over an open window, the panel is indistinguishable from the window it slides over, unless the panel is set to another colour. The panel menus (Applications, Places, System) are simply piled on top of the menus of the open window (File, Edit and so on) in bizarre fashion. It's ugly and there's no visual clue that the panel menus aren't really part of the open window. I think this patch should be reverted and the problem with docks be solved in a way that doesn't break functionality for gnome-panels. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: compiz 9.10 - Karmic and compiz 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu16.
