For the record and your system integrity: you don't have to push the power button to shut down your pc, even if you're suffering from this bug or a similar one: the alt+sysrq+"button" combos remain valid!!!!!
So, if you have to reboot your machine, all you have to do is, while holding alt + sysrq, press: REISUB. It will stop then kill brutally any process still running, but at least (and this is very important) it will sync and safely unmount all the filesystems! If you have to power off, the combination is REISUO.
