Sorry, I cannot tell if the bug you are pointing is related or not.
All I can tell is that the module vboxdrv is loaded on my system:
$ lsmod | grep vb
vboxnetadp             88552  0 
vboxnetflt             95240  0 
vboxdrv               130344  2 vboxnetflt

And in dmesg I got only this:
warning: `VirtualBox' uses 32-bit capabilities (legacy support in use)

And from messages:
$ grep vbox /var/log/messages
Aug 26 10:32:08 my-laptop kernel: [   18.927123] vboxdrv: fAsync=0 offMin=0x187 
offMax=0x845
Aug 26 10:32:08 my-laptop kernel: [   18.927160] vboxdrv: TSC mode is
