Public bug reported:
Karmic koala - latest partial upgrade drops me to a tty1 shell. Not sure
if it is a kernel issue, but a newer kernel was part of the upgrade (I
think) as were updates to the nvidia GPU driver. Get error message
something like "Can't access port 2 is the usb cable OK?" There have
been no hardware changes to the computer. There has only been one
software change other than updates via Canonical, I did install gxine.
Before the partial upgrade, karmic koala had been performing
faultlessly. I installed todays updates via the tty1 shell, but this
didn't help. Please contact if you want more information.
