In addition to my last report I had a network failure even after having forced the Realtek lan interface to 100MBit. The link failed after about 7GB of data transfer of a single large file. I have switched to an old PCI card, a 3Com 3C905B, which is working fine until now. I have now transferred a single 50GB archive succesfully, something which has not been possible in Jaunty so far with this mainboards NIC.
