ummmm, yes i have the problem with a Kodak camera but obviously it is lib related and has nothing to do with a specific application since it errors before any application is triggered. Yes that seems to mean an ownership problem and the kludgey stufff is kludgey so we need a good solution. Yes Rich is probably right about the UDEV rules being a possible solution, but unless Rich is a dev type (and I am not saying you aren't or that I could judge you if you were,) it would be nice to have somebody with some dev creds to fix this. It goes back to my birthday (second post anyway) which was more than half a year ago now. Can this get bumped into somebody's inbox for a permanent solution?
