This sounds like a freeze rather than a crash.
A huge ton of different freeze bugs were solved in the intel driver
between the time this was reported and now, so I would guess this
problem is long since gone. If you can still reproduce this or other
freezes, see the freeze debugging guideline at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/ for directions on reporting
these kinds of issues.
Anyway, since it's been some time since there was a comment, and since
so much has changed, I'll close this bug out at this time.
