I can confirm this bug and would like to add that I face problems also with the other encodings of the misc-fixed font. It seems that only the ascii fontset remains unaffected.
I'd greatly appreciate any hint/advice how to work around this bug, since I use EMACS in a multilanguage environment for nearly every possible text-oriented task and this problem is very annoying, especially when dealing with non-ascii and multilingual files. Switching to a larger font-size doesn't fix the problem, since the non-ascii characters still remain (at least) half the size of the other characters. It's noteworthy that under Debian I had the same problem, but it was easily cured by putting "(set-default-font "7x14")" in .emacs -- a solution that doesn't work with Dapper, unfortunalely. The affected package is perhaps xfonts-base. -- ISO8859-15 fonts are very small https://launchpad.net/bugs/45823 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
