Sorry for the slow response but have been involved with learning UBUNTU,
installing it and fixing the PC that brock in the middle of all this.
I have disabled all add-ons and as far as the profile goes, I have
installed UBUNTU at least 10 times in the process of fixing the PC and
trying different combinations. All have started with a completely re-
formatted HDD. I look to see how to change my profile but can't find
ProfileManager (I am still in the learning mode).
With a new install of UBUNTU and Firefox and all add-ons disabled the
problem is still there. It only seems to be the one web site (at this
point that is) which is carepages.com

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become
corrupt and/or extensions can conflict. Could you please try this with a new
profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your
old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to disable all your
extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic one.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I am using UBUNTU version 9.04 and firefox 3.0.13 and every time I go to
URL www.carepages.com the computer locks up the browser indicates it
still has more to download but of course it never completes the downlowd
because the system is locked up. I can go to the same site using Opera
and it works fine.
I expected the page to download and allow me to enter my user id and password
Instead the system locks up and the page does not load completely, I can not
close Firefox. To get out of the problem I need to manually shut down the
computer by holding the power button.
