Public bug reported:

The documentation explains that you can set kernel parameters with the
kopt command. This way they should be preserved even after a kernel
update, e.g.

#kopt=max_loop=64

should make it always possible to mount more than 8 loop devices.

but after running update-grub this line is ignored and stripped from
menu.lst.

I appreciate any help.

** Affects: grub (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
