I got this problem in Kubuntu Jaunty with KDE 4.3 from PPA in one login! Other logins logout normally. Removing knotifyrc file fixed the problem for my problem user. I think we need to add remove or repair knotifyrc file script into the deb package for automatic solving this bug when upgrading to KDE 4.3.
