Public bug reported: I'm trying to configure my laptop, which is a Compal HGL30 with a nVidia Geforce Go 7600 graphics card to hibernate but I'm experiencing severe problems when trying to do so.
The main symptom is that the laptop fails to hibernate, it just locks up, with some console text on the screen. In the kern.log, I see messages such as: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 61s! [kwin:4213] (I'll post the full logs as attachments in a minute). Since it says pretty clearly that it is a bug, I submit it.
